With specialized clubs and equipment, campers can now swing thru the newly designed 3-hole golf course between the lakes! _____________________________________________________ 6-16-07 Florida Adaptive Golf and Easter Seals of Southwest Florida conducted a community adaptive golf clinic at The Meadows Country Club in Sarasota, FL. Free to all physically challenged individuals, participants learned first-hand that anyone, regardless of their disability, can play and enjoy the game of golf. Organized by FLAG, participants experienced a putting course, a chipping target station and full swings on the range using specialized golf equipment. Embracing our mission of enhancing the lives of persons with disabilities to improve their physical and personal well-being, the USGA has awarded us a one-year matching grant up to $50,000.00 to fund our 2007 programs. This matching grant means we must show financial contributions from local companies, individuals, and/or other organizations to receive any matching USGA funds in order to successfully launch our many planned adaptive golf programs. FREE to anyone with a physical disability living in the surrounding communities, the FLAG instructors, volunteers, and therapists provided adaptive golf instruction and education to all participants.
